Default ecu pinout ...??

ok. i have a 98 civic. using the y7 harness. with obd2 gsr motor.
the problem. the blue ecu plug. i accidently smashed it so now theres pin swinging in the wind. i got another blue ecu plug from the junk yard but its from an automatic. i cant get the remaining pins out
the question is do i match the color wire to color wire?
or ignore the color wire and match pinout?
using p72 ecu

You just find the correct wire by looking at a pinout, to see what the function of the wire is, and then put it in the right spot. I would NEVER go by color for color when it comes to Hondas. There have been many times that I've had to do some kind of wiring, and I was dealing with 1 or 2 of the wires were a different color and what was listed online or listed in the service manual. Although for the most part the colors are correct, so it's nice to have the color of the wires as something extra to reference. Certainly don't base it on colors though.
