Default b16 in del sol not wanting to get into gear

hey guys my friend has a 94 civic del sol with the stock b16a3. well recently it would not get into gear, if it did it would be really hard or would grind. im thinking its either the clutch or master cylinder. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. if you pump the clutch it would work for about 5 minutes then the symptons would return.

check the slave cylinder too, but more than likely it is the master cylinder as you have already stated..

I owned a Izuzu Rodeo that had the same problems. It would not go into gear, it had to be forced and sometimes it would grind the gears. I had to pump the clutch to make the clutch work, and that only lasted about a minute.

The problem.... slave cylinder. You might want to look into that.

Grinding into gear, or not going into gear at all can also be caused by worn out synchronizers assemblies in the transmission. Afterall, they're only made of brass, this is so they'll wear first, and not the more expensive hardened steel parts like input shaft and countershaft gears.
