Default Trap speed to slow!

I feel like an idiot. All the other cars in this forum are running 9s. Last weekend my car only ran 14.1 at 95.1 mph. But the 1/8 mile clocked at 9.0 at 78.4 on the same run. When I threw it into 4th, my competitor almost caught up to me. My question is, why did my car accelerate slower at the end of the run? 92 Eg H22 euro r, 12 lb flywheel, 65mm tb, 205/50/14 drag radials, traction bar. Give me some ideas. altitude here is 5300 feet.

Gearing and power. Other guy is making more power than you. The gearing is a big part of it too. Your transmission just doesnt get you moving fast enough through the gears as other setups do.

OK thanks. I was killing all the other cars that night. 1st thru 3rd. This tranny is geared real close 1st thru 3rd. 4th is further away (more rpm drop between 3rd and 4th) I will try a taller tire. Ya see? Those 9 second guys got off subject and started bragging! lol!

the altitude is also killing your car. What tranny are you using? I doubt you need a taller tire.

If your gearing is already too long, taller tires are just gonna make it worse......

I live in West Texas and the altitude sucks here too. I have a B18CR (Bolt ons) with GSR tranny, Quaife LSD, MT drag radials in a 88 CRX and I will be lucky to run as good as you did.

High altitude and an all motor Honda sux.

The tranny is a T2W4, Geared super close 1-3. Like an ITR trans. My thinking with a taller tire is crossing the trap in 3rd gear at 8100 rpm. Instead of 4th. Car makes sick power at high RPMs.

I think I came to a point where I just didn't want to add it up anymore

To the OP, posting your timeslip will help out in "diagnosing" your problem.
Dyno graphs, etc etc.

the T2W4 is not like the ITR. the final drives are way different

If you READ my post, It says 1-3 ratios. and yes, 1-3 are very similar to an ITR trans

REACTION-.211 60FT-2.080 1/8 MPH-78.481 1/8 TIME-9.032 1/4 MPH 14.108 1/4 SPEED 95.199 Can you decipher anything from this? I think my handicap is lack of power! N/A at 5300 altitude doesnt help! The high dollar turbo hondas only get into the 12s here. I think Ill get some NOS. Thanks for the help!

OK guys. I changed out my intake manifold, stiffened the rear up, advanced my base timing. Saturday night I pulled a 13.904 at 103.577 MPH! As a comparison, another H22 hatch challenged me. And he ran a 15.6. I had one of the quickest times up there. Beating STIs Evos and V8 muscle. Yeah, drag racing at 5300 feet makes it tough. But Im happy. Now Im selling my T2W4 and getting a higher geared tranny. Retired at 13.9!

Ha Ha. You brought up old memories with that set-up. Best was 13.9 at 103. Im currently building a G23 turbo. My goal is a 12 sec 1320.
