rev limit and fuel cut questions?
ok well after changing to aftermarket ignition and tach . i dont knwo what to do to make sure all is accurate. i set the rev limit on the msd to 8500i think . and it looks like to me that the tach is now reading like 8100-8200 when the rev l;imit kicks.
is my msd settings reading the actual engine rpm , or can it be off like thestock tachs are. ? i noticed my stock tach is only off in reall high rpms.
im thinking im gonna take off the rev limit on the msd and jump on it just to see wherre actual fuel cut reads now on my autometer , and then eqaute from what it should be anbd make the mathematical changes to my settings to make them match up and get all my power and not have it cut to early and not cut too late and blow my motor.
i want to set the msd limit to 100 rpm,s before factory fuel cut.
Now is the factory fuel cut at 8600? or 8500? i thought it was 8600 off hand , but wanna make sure.

Which tach is reading 8100/8200 when rev limiter kicks in? Stock, or Autometer?
I'm pretty sure the stock limiter is at 8600rpms.
The MSD and Autometer tach should both be dead on.
No matter what, don't hit fuel cut when you're spraying.

the autometer was reading 8200 or so when shutting off. ? maybe its just getting up that quck that i cant see it ?
i have the shift light set at8k , that comes on and it seems instantaneously it then shuts down?
maybe its just getting there quicker then usual and im slowing my reactions down?
