Default 97 accord smoking :( help!!!

i have a 97 accord 4 door automatic. it runs fine. but it is smoking under the hood. its not like alot of smoke but i pop the hood and air it out everytime i park it. the smoke is coming from the back fire wall, like the intake manifold and around there. i cant really tell where its coming from. does anyone know what the problem might be? thanks everyone

It could just be an exhaust leak - mine will do this on occasion.

i would get down there with a light and make sure there are no fluids leaking from a sensor or coolant hose. i had a small crack on a hose on my intake and all i could see was smoke coming out from my hood. also, start car and use the tb to rev the the motor and watch the smoke as you rev it. if the smoke dissapears when it is done it is prolly an exhaust leak. the force of the exhaust will push it right past the leak but when it sits idle is kinda sit there and leaks out.

are you losing any ammount of coolant ?? there are coolant lines that go to your iacv on the back of throttle boddy could be leaking.

did you just have oil chage ? they could have been sloppy and spillt some.

Then if u just got ur oil changed they prolly did a sloppy job and it rann all over your block.

Changing oil on honda accord is a very EAZYoil change compared to others.
but the placement on the engine is slightly angled up so it will drip onto the block if ur not quick about thinkgs.

spend the extra dollar and get a wixx or fram filter or something along them lines. should be less then 8 dollars for a filter if u do it yourself then w/e brand of oil u use 6-7 quarts -
good oil filters will hold alot of oil then them themself normaly 1-2 quarts n always good to prefill them, but also can get sloppy when u try to put on :-p

x2 on the sloppy oil change. The exhuast is directly under the oil filter. they probably spilled oil onto the exhaust pipe when they removed the filter and didn't clean it off. Or they may have doubled up on the oil fitler gasket, this can cause a poor seal and small amounts of oil will drip from your filter. check that while your checking the block and sensors for leaks.
