Clamp a chunk of copper or brass to the back of the sheet metal. It'll act as a heat sink, and also your welds won't stick to it. Fill it in, stopping to let the metal cool down.

Not sure about that chassis, but I did a CRX recently and there is like a pocket at the top of the shock tower. Basically there are two layers of metal there, so when you get to the last few holes the hot air is trying to blow back out through your weld, just let it cool down a little, there are a ton of holes and it's not hard to heat up the metal welding them all up.

i didnt get that either. but isn't the metal around the shock towers doubled up? it should be easier to weld there than other areas like the top of the radiator support...

Use a brass hammer on the back side of the panel to cover the hole. use multiple spot welds to close up the hole. the weld wont stick to the brass hammer

this is the method i use when doing rust repair or stitch welding and run into a hole or blow out.

It's two layers like I said but in places there is an air pocket between the two pieces.

thanks for the input, yah in some places it is layered on the tower, i didnt have any copper or aluminum to place behind it so i grabbed a big rock out of the creek behind my house and held that behind it lol, it actually worked except the holes i couldnt get to from behind, i think i invented a new welding method "rock welding" lol.... welder is all the way down, and i am using gloves, and a helmet lol, and also a jacket, for the seam sealer, i used a freakin torch, and burned it until it would just flake off lol, sorry i havent replied, my freakin gateway took a **** and it wont even turn back on, ive had so many problems with that thing ive already had to replace the motherboard once, and i lost all of my rebuild pictures, hopefully i can recover them....again thanks and sorry for the novel
