oil light after rebuilding motor..
Well i just got done rebuildin a gsr for my boy.. his car had low copression (about 120 accross the board) so we pulled her out at sent her to the machine shop and get it bored 20 over (81.5mm) with ITR pistons.. used stock rods but got the ends honed and all new bearings/micro polished the crank and wat not.. also got a little valve job done along with new valve stem seals etc...
I got the motor back in the other night and started her up and the oil light is on.. ive let it run for about 2min tops a couple dif. times and the light is still on.. i pulled the valve cover off and i dont see any oil in the head.. there is a little off by cylinder 3-4 but nothing around cylinders 1-2.. i started the car with NO valve cover on and there is no oil sprayin out..
does anyone have any ideas wat might be causing this?

yes the maching shop checked it all and turned the crank/did the rods.. im not sure on the clearances.. i had them order the bearings for me..
Possible stopped up oil control orifice. Did you have the block decked? Did you remove the oil control orifice first? If so did you replace it? Did you replace the oil pump? Is there a pick up tube in the pan and the nuts to it tight? I would not run the motor any more until you resolve the problem. I know dumb question, but is there oil in the engine? Did you remove the oil pressure switch from the block before machining? I wonder if you have a two fold problem. Metal in oil pressure switch and oil control orifice? I would remove the oil pressure switch and inspect it and pay attention to what runs out of the block. THen you could test oil pressure there and if you have it then you know something is up with the oil control orifice. I would not start to test oil pressure without having someone else manually lube the cams during operation. It doesnt take long to ruin engine compnents without proper lubrication. Be careful. Those are just some things to think about. THe oiling system minus VTEC is a pretty simple thing. If you have oil pressure at the oil pressure switch your bearing clearances are ok.
we used the old oil pump :/ but i put a new o ring on it and the pick up tube is used but the gasket is there...

the block was decked.. i removed ALL of the sensors and i looked at the oil pressure switch before i put it back on and it was clean.. as far as the orifice do u mean the lil oil jet in the middle of the block? i didnt pull that out but before i installed it all i checked the jet and it looked clean but i never pulled it out.. fuuck.. i think im a drop the oil pan 2nite and look at the oil and check the pick up tube.. maybe pull the pump off and buy a new one.. and yes the motor is at the full level.. BUT the oil pan is dented on the bottom because the car is DUMPED like real bad lol.. its not my car its just my friends but i told him i would do the motor 4 him..
