Need your opinion on price...
Before I say what I found, first understand that about 2 months ago, my f*ckin outstanding DC2 was stolen and found COMPLETELY stripped the next day. I really want another honda, I didn't get any money back (I learned my lesson, my next honda will have a crazy alarm and full coverage) so that's where I'm at right now. I don't have a whole LOT of money, but I never got to finish my first project (95 Eclipse Turbo), and then my DC2 GSR didn't get anything other than an outstanding stereo system.
Since the theft, I've been recovering, both money wise and emotionally, while looking for another car. I've recently found a 98 pristine white Civic, manual, already with NRG quick release hub, among a few other interior parts. The motor and bay are unmolested.
The price is 3800. What's this car worth? I really do like the car, if I was to buy it I'd just get suspension, wheels and tires, and low spoiler, as well as front lip, and then do GSR turbo.
Any ideas?

Well first off check edmund.com or kbb.com on the value of the car. sometimes some people might have a high number then people can come in low ball you. it boils down to what you really want in a car. if you feel the car is you then go for it. *thumbs up* just a warning even if with full coverage your insurance company will give you value for your car. even if it have aftermarket parts on it your insurance premium will be a little higher because of the aftermarket parts. they sometime only insure up to 5000 in aftermarket parts. it is all up to your insurance company
If I were to sell my 99 hatch with b18,tokico illumina's, brake conversion, si interior, hid's, power doors/locks, fully dynamated,si rims, new khumo supra's, type r lips etc...
I would sell it for $4000-$4300 no more than that realistically
$3800 for a 98 with a d series is on the expensive side; maybe some pics would justify it but I doubt it
Just wait a little and I'm pretty sure you can come up on a better deal, but it's your money

Yea, id hold off on that car. You could easily get something much cheaper, especially if your looking to replace all the items you just mentioned. Compact car prices went up when gas prices did, but yet compact prices havent come down since gas did. Look for a better deal.
it does seem kind of pricey, im just making sure it's not just me that thinks so. It hasnt been sold in a few months, I keep seeing it, which is one clue to me that it's kind of pricey, it's just been kind of rough for me to find an ek, unmolested, and manual, that didn't need body work, for a decent price and in my area.
fastrxu - I would already have a car if i wasnt so damn tall. There's so many nice hatches for sale, but being 6'5 I dont fit in a hatch, and just barely make it in a coupe. I've really wanted a sedan, but finding them in manual, for a good price and in good shape isn't EASY, although it's not hard. plus this one that I found is a pristine taffeta white. I may go check it out and see how it is. I'm not trying to spend 4000 dollars on a car that I'm going to have to drop another 5000 on and probably not even be done.

definately look to the south if you want a good body. I bought my car in TN and not a spot of rust on it after 9 yrs. Theres tons around here at local dealerships, most you wont find on the internet
Yes, im still in TN. Im down here for school. I havent looked specifically for civics at these dealerships, but i know they have some. Plus now is a best time to buy because cars aint selling and the dealers wanna get rid of inventory.
