Default F22b2 VTEC problem

I am doing a mini me head swap F22b2 head onto a F22b1 bottom end and i recently went to the junkyard and pulled a vtec solenoid of a f22b2 head and once i got it back home i noticed it just had one wire coming from the solenoid and i have seen other vtec solenoids with a pressure switch too but this one doesnt have the switch just the solenoid can i still use it with a P0A ECU or do i have to get a different one?

Default Re: F22b2 VTEC problem

F22B1 = VTEC
F22B2 = Non VTEC

P0A ECU is the OBD1 ECU that requires both the VTEC pressure switch and VTEC solenoid Valve. You need the VTEC solenoid valve and pressure switch from a 94-95 Accord Ex F22B1. You must have grabbed the OBD2 96-97 Accord Ex VTEC solenoid valve that doesn't use the pressure switch.

There is a hack/bypass for the pressure switch so you can use the one you picked up. Hook it up so that the VTEC PSW = ECU pin D6 is wired directly to pin A4.
