Icon2 Exhaust

I recently upgraded my exhaust on my accord. I did it myself. I replaced the whole exhaust manifold to muffler. Here's my issue. While I was installing it I also replaced the CAT which came with 2 - crush able (?) gaskets. On the muffler side it inserted into a ring on the CAT on the manifold side there wasn't a ring to insert it so I placed between the down pipe and the CAT. So after everything was installed and tightened I started the car everything ran fine but I noticed quiet a bit of water coming out from where the down pipe connects to the manifold side of the CAT. Now what I'm wondering is was that gasket not suppose to go there ? Or is the connection not tight enough ? Or is it suppose to be a full size gasket ? Thanks in advance.
