Default high horsepower.. What about stopping???

Well I been wonder what all you guys out there are running for brakes? Like Pads, rotors, brake booster, and ect any brake related item's.

Also I know you need a parachute if you running 9.9 or 150mph in our area. but excluding the parachute the are some many cars run in the 9's and never end up pulling it. Thats why i ask what r ur brake set-ups

my EG is only 510 whp but its a daily driver so brakes are important to me, for the front i have 10.3 inch 2001 GSR brakes, the rear is a home made concoction i came up with using a mix of RSX, GSR and 99 SI parts to give me 10.2 rear. my master cylinder is a 15/16th civic ex unit. the front brakes are about as big as you can go and clear lensos or bogarts.

I just have my front brakes ran off of the pedal and i dont have a problem stopping @142mph. I feel like it wouldnt be a problem with more mph.

I have the stock BMC, steel braid lines from the BMC to the calipers, and hawk pads. I would love to try out the kens unit and see how it is and looks way cleaner.

i had an itr 5 lug, and switched to 13" wheels in the front and no one wanted the whole set for some reason, so i have itr 5 lug in the back and gsr in the front to fit the dss 5.9 axles.

only issue i had with stopping is i felt like the front was diving a little more than i had liked.

so now i just throw the chute.

running gsr brakes front and back a 15/16 MC and a big booster.
Stops on a dime.

Have been thinking of going with a wilwood unit and dumping the booster for weight reduction.

I ran an outlet to each caliper and ditch the prop valve and all the factory hardlines.

if you are dragging brakes arent really that important(as far as serious upgrades) reasons why
1.the stock brake systems(si,gsr,ls) all are very very good for stock
2. any bigger you cant fit 13's, good luck finding 14's and screw 15's
3. Alot of people dont understand that on the strip drums are about as good if not the same stopping power to that of discs
4. gotta spend money on other things
LOL
personally on my si, i installed a 1" mc, stainless brake lines and new oem pads in the front and hawk pads in the rear

I installed the oem fronts and they are too thick they dont go over my rotors. Can the brake pads be shaved at all? idk why they wont fit

I had that happen once when i did new rotors and pads, they fit but had to be pounded on, i drove it on a couple short drives, just enough to wear them down, and they were fine after that.

Tolerances on brand new stuff are usually pretty tight I'd be willing to bet you could compress your caliper a few more thou and have it slide right on if you tried hard enough
