local street drags are coming up soon (Napa Racing Kingman Street Drags VI) and i'm looking into getting some drag radials for my hx wheels. slicks aren't allowed in my class. i've run bfg drag radials before in 225 50 15 and 205 40 17 and was not very impressed. my current setup is a 91 crx with a b16 191whp plus a 100hp n2o shot on a progressive controller. car has the cable s1 trans with a drag spool. what radials do you guys recommend or use in this size?

 

BFG R1's if you want to get serious! 225/50/15

 

thanks but those aren't made for drag racing, besides i already tried the drag tires in that size and i dont think i wanna go bfg's this time around.

 

Don't stick with the BFG's. Try the same size, 225-50/15 but with M&H's or MT tires. The M&H's have been said to perform MUCH better than the BFG's.

 

all i have left for rims are my 14's need a radial in this size. thinking i might try the mickey street 2.

agreed! I am gonna get either these or the BFG 215/60/14's. I have had really good 60's with some crappy tires of the same size.

 

Bfg's suck from what I saw, I have toyo proxies.

 

Bfg's suck imo..Had the 225/50/15's and they were VERY inconsistent.One pass would be 2.3 60 next would be 2.0 next would go 2.3 again etc etc.

 

yah i cant wait til i wear out my BFG's so i can go with the MT's

 

I went with 205 14/50R MT ET street II's. They are a good looking soft feeling tire but I havent got to try them out yet.
