just dropped a d15b vtec in car. all wires to harness and hoses are hook up correctly had a friend quadruple check.

ive replaced a few sensor from old engine and have no CEL.

friend is helping me get running but leaves tmrw morn so if anyone could txt/call that would be awesome, and if you get it running i can paypal you some money. 503 422 2438

now the issue.

at first had a erratic idle. ranging from 1k jumping to 2k nonstop. then we tried driving it and it died before we got out the driveway. next time we turned it on it idled at 200.


today we went to work on it and it has a constant idle of 1500 but died after we drove it like a mile. also dont know if it matters but the stickshift goes forward like an inch when i go to give car gas.

my friend atm is replacing throttle body form my old engine onto the d15 and the tps. the screw that you adjust to change the idle doeswnt do anything when my friend turns it. (sry he's the car literate one.)

if anyone has any ideas at all please give me a call asap so i dont have to have it towed to a performance shop before my friend leaves. call anytime. he does not have internet at his house so i probably wont be able to check back here until tmrw.

side note:

when car is running. the air is rediculously louder than it should be. like you can hear the engine running (sounds very healthy) and where it blows air out the manifold sounds like a dam vacuum cleaner it sounds as if the air would sound if you had your car running at like 5-7krpm


using p28 with a 4 sensor o2

car is a 93 civic ex


purge solenoid i took off of old engine plugged in harness to it and capped off the cable that runs to it and the one that runs from it. do i need to do this any differently?

 

1st thing it sounds like a motor mount/tourqe mount missing or torn if you have a lot of movement in the shifter. sounds like you also have a vac leak try spraying starter fluid around the engine intake if idle speed changes you found your leak. last but not least change out your fuel filter and see if that does anything for .

 

will give this a try today. i replaced fuel filter and that did nothing.
