I put 5w20 in my 99 Ex stock engine. is that ok?
I put 5w20 instead of 5w30. I just read that its recommended for newer hondas.
(For some reason I thought I grabbed 5w30....I know thats recommended by Honda)
I'm not technically intelligent when it comes to viscosity n things.
Since its a stock engine I don't beat on it n things and its my daily driver.
I know its a newb question, but u guys are full of answers and I tried looking it up, but couldn't find the answer
So am I ok til next oil change?
Thanks in advance

I just finished another oil change on the Fiance's car, 2004 Civic EX with a D17. Factory recommended 5w-20, and thats what she's been using since we got the car.
There might be a bulletin out there that revisits the use of 5W-20 with older engines. It was released shortly after 5W-20 became the standard engine oil viscosity for most Honda engines.
