Default Air Conditioning

My AC is blowing warm air and I dont know why. I just had a new radiator installed last week. Could that have anything to do with it?

no not unless you damaged an A/C line or forgot to plug in a sensor to the A/C system. What year and make of car?

i had this problem. make sure that your heating vents are closing all the way. under the passenger side dash there is an open and close mechanism. dont know how else to describe it but maybe someone has a picture. move your temperature **** and you'll see it rotate. i pushed mine as far in as possible towards the cold side.

there isnt any warm air coming through the vents anymore, but the a/c still doesnt work too great. im guessing that another problem that i dont care to deal with. windows down is more fun

EDIT: just noticed you said it was a 99. could be the same deal. anyone want to confirm?

you should start by checking your refrigerant level

I measured the refrigerant level and the needle moved to the red indicating the freon level was too high. I have never filled the car with freon the whole time I have owned it. What does this mean?

It means you should have a professional look at it.

pretend thats your car in the picture. right under the dashboard on the left theres a black panel you can remove. it kinda looks like a box. its held on by a plastic screw so you dont need any tools.

I have the same issue in my 96 accord. My heat works amazing but the AC blows hot air. I think it has to do with a leak. I remember last summer my buddy put refrigerant in it and as he was doing it I had the AC on full blast.

I felt it getting cold as he was doing it. It lasted like a couple of hours and thats long stretching it. Does anyone have a diagram so I can maybe find the leak?

Get an A/C die kit, with blulight and glasses. Put dye in and check for leaks. Check all commom areas like condensor, connections where o-rings are such.. Find leak, fix leak recharge and done.

if you over charge the system you will know it becuase you will hear the compressor cycle on and off rapidly and your car will not get cool. did that by accident of my 94 accord when I recharge it the first time. removed some refrigerant and problem solved. If your pressures are abnormally high and you have never recharged the system, then you got a blockage in there somehwere and you need to find the failed part, replace it, remove blockage if you can or replace blocked part. reseal system with new o-rings and draw vaccum for 4 hours and then recharge with pag oil and r134a to the proper level.
