Does this look ok?
Im sure this will prolly get moved to appearance, but im just curious does this look ok? I bought an SI back from the honda dealer, and put my ex colored grille on it. Just want your opinions. Also, I am aware that the si grille is larger, im just cheap.
so you bought an em1; took off the grill; and put a civic ex grill in it?
was the civic resprayed from a previous owner?
were the headrest changed out for ex too?
maybe it's a Canadian si? Looks ok. just stop swapping parts out

What the OP means (I believe) is:
I'm sure this will probably get moved to Appearance, but I'm just curious if anyone thinks this looks ok?
I bought the mesh grille for an Si from the Honda dealer and put my EX colored grille shell on it.
I just want your opinions. Also, I am aware that the Si grille is larger, I'm just cheap.

Well if you look in other forums, the ex grille shell isnt supposed to line up with the si grille. Now i figured most people would be able to spot the difference immediately, but i guess i was wrong, so it must look ok.
well, i can either go on pwjdm, and spend 190+shipping for a ctr grille thats white, or i could spend 60.00 at majestic for the front shell and still have to paint it.
After seeing some better photos (which happen to be up close) it looks like it fits poorly.
I wouldn't bother buying it brand new in white though. There's no real point.
Collect your proper grille shell from an Si in any color. then piece together some other parts you might like, such as sideskirts, lips and mirrors (examples).
Set all your parts aside until you collect enough and then bring them all to get painted at the same time. I prefer to drop the entire car off to be sure the parts match as well as possible.
You probably won't be charged apiece, but rather charged based on the paint they buy. Say they buy a quart and it can paint so many parts. Well, if you only come in and want a grille shell painted, maybe that quart is the lowest amount they are able to purchase the paint in. So they still have to charge you for the quart of paint, plus other supplies to paint your one part. If you bring in multiple parts and that quart would still be able to paint all of those parts too, then you'll effectively get your parts painted for cheaper.
My painter has a starting price. $300 for as much as he can paint. I ended up getting a big front lip, big rear lip, front bumper, front grille shell and driver's sideskirt all done for $300. The parts all came with a two year warranty where I could get my parts repainted twice within that time.
Plus when I originally tried dropping just the parts off and not the entire car and everything came out a shade off, he apologized profusely and repainted it all free of charge asap.
Don't just pick the first painter you go to. Feel free to price it out before you decide.
The CTR grille shell will be noticeably creamier than the color on your car. CTRs came in Championship White, not Taffeta White (the color of your car).
