steering slop after alignment
my car is a 90 civic hb, koni/gc (cat about 3 inches off the ground; slammed-ish?
195/55/15 s.drives.
well before the alignment, i had a "stiff" steering feel. i loved how it handled and i just felt that i had more control.
just yesterday, i had my alignment done ( same height, didn't adjust anything btw ).
now the "stiff" feeling isn't there anymore.
does anybody here in h-t know what i mean? and why my car slops now after alignment?

what is sloppy? is there play in the steering? If you were lowered quite a bit and didnt have an alignment you probably had a lot of toe out, making the car feel very responsive and darty, when it was aligned they probably set it back to factory specs. DO a search you can find some recommended alignment setting for your particular purpose.(those probably wont be stock specs)
Yep that pretty much sums it up.. toe out wil make it feel tight. How was the tire wear before the alignment?
Did you have wear on the inside?

thanks for the replies, so far i'm understanding toe out = nice grippy feeling?
and toe in = feels normal / stock / rear end snaps.
well i went through two sets of falken 912's in 195/60/14..
the were all eating from the inside. i want something that has the tight feeling and will save me some tires!

Wasting your money.
Align it right, and learn to drive the car correctly, you can't have it both ways.
i didn't describe it right also when i said my tires are bald on one side. it's more like it's from turning from a high speed? it's just a middle? of one side of the tire.
You alignment was way way off if you were burning through tires like that.
That "tight" feeling can not be had any other way than to have it like you describe.
You are in the RR/AX forum so it was assumed you did one or the other.
At any rate, making the car neutral is the way to go. You wont have the comfort of that tight feeling if its aligned correctly, hence driving it differently.

thank you again for your input dirty19.
i don't know what. it's just that week of stiff and "in control" feel was fxcking great.
well, it's time for me to raise my car a bit, realign it myself this time *shooting for toe out?* and get some new bumpstops for the konis
