oil filter problem
as we speak im doing an oil change. my ? is...could i change the filter when the oil ISNT empty? cuz i bought the filter and everything and i also have the tool to screw the filter in/out...but this tool doesnt fit the honda filter.
u could be quick about it..it will spill out. i do oil changes all day part time..lol.
buy a filter wrench..looks like pliers...clooses(sp?) and band wrenches are ok too..just make sure they fit.

so it will spill if i have oil in there? i got the filter cup looking thing that fits over the end of filter and uses the rachet to unscrew/screw.
GHETTO FIX: stab filter w/ screw driver as close to the back of the filter (away from the block) and turn. Screwdriver = universal filter removal tool.
You will get dirty. This is last resort. Take other car or get ride to auto parts and find the right tool instead.

I would not use any tool to tighten the filter, just hand tighten. Yeah, oil always gets on my axle, and exhaust manifold
. But I can change my oil in like 5 min now

you wont have any problem changing your filter with the oil level full. Just spin the filter off and make sure that you have a drain pan or something under the filter area. You will only lose the oil thats in your filter and maybe a little more from the block and oil return passages.
You can put oil back into the engine without having the filter on. Oil will not run all over the place... Just pull the filter and change it then add the proper amount of oil back and you'll be fine

since everyone just wants to flame..... if you dont drain it oil will pour out all over you... best to drain before you change... or if you just had an oil change id just hold off until time for the next one to put it on.
