The short block was replaced due to a faulty main bearing, so the dealership put in a new short block. I have all paper work from replacement. Yes the new shortblock is from Japan, and is stamped B18C5. The dealership had my car for six weeks, and it was a big ordeal that i dont ever want to do again.

I see your considering the IS300. That car is actually not much bigger than an Integra. If you want a car for kids, i recommend something a little bigger.

I think $18500 is a fair price, but that price is pretty firm. My little guy is five, and about ready to start racing karts like his old man, so i am also going to need a tow vehicle for the racing stuff.

I think you may like the G35 better. I think motor trend or CD just did a review and they like the G35 over the BMW 330, and I think the IS was third.

Negative for the G35=> auto only until next year

One of my friends has a jet black IS300. Its a pretty sweet looking ride. Its seats are suade in the middle with leather on the outer parts. One of my favorite parts of the car. Plus he got a watch that looks like the gauge cluster

Its a nice car, you could always go for a 4 door turbocharged all wheel drive Subaru WRX. But hey, its your choice

I'll be selling my 2000 PY ITR soon (9000mi) as well for either the IS 300 or G35.

I have driven both and the G35 kicks serious *** in handling, speed and room.

I like the looks of the IS300 better but for $1000 more you get into the G35 with
Premium leather sport suspension package. I still can't decide..
