they guy i bought the car from said he was using it for all last summer and he said that the a/c worked great. but on the way home it blew out nothing but hot air. at idle when i turn on the a/c button i dont here the compressor kick on... now this is probable my problem i think but i want a few opinions on it..... now compressors are non-repairable right? is there a fuse that could be blown? any input would be great..... its a bone stock ex with 98,xxx miles... if that matters....
Don't jump to conclusion. Compressors are usually built to not turn on if there is no refrigerant in the system because they will over heat. Best thing to do is to see if there is any presure in the system and if there is a leak. I'd suggest you take it to a shop unless you know somebody who is certified and have equipments. Polar bears are having a hard enough time without refrigerant being released.
