Default Help with 92 civic vx w/Gsr swap

Got my car started, idles fine everything just seemed good. Took it out for a test drive, car just kinda bogged and die on me. Tried starting, motor turns over but won't start.

What i tried so far is checked fuses, check fuel pump/injectors, sparks plug/ wires, changed main relay. I change the injectors w/ ls one's car started for a few seconds and died.

Car is a eg vx w/98 gsr motor. obd1 gsr harnesss, skunk2 pro series intake w/ stock TB. Just running a stock P28. Knock sensor is not wired(not sure if this would cause it to not start)

Please let me know if you anyone had this problem before. Thanks

i have this exact same setup. wire in ur knock sensor and on the vx the harness going to the ecu already has a wire where u would originally pin in the knock sensor becasue it is for the five wire o2 that the vx runs. my car ran but crappy until i wired in my knock after u do that if still wont start check timing my timing was off a tooth and it ran horribly.

Will the motor not start because knock sensor is not wire? Im planning to run a chip P28 that's why i didn't wire it. Let me know, motor still won't start

if your runnin a p28 ecu it will run with out knock sensor, due to the p28 not having one so it will not look for it.
you said it was running but died on you correct... how long was the car down for during the swap... could be bad gas or maybe foul plugs

Where is the crank sensor located?

behind the crank pulley...it's kinda hard to see with the motor in the car and without the crank pulley off, but if you stick your hand behind it you should be able to feel the plug..

are you getting any CELs? Knock sensor wouldn't have anything to do with it not running. When you said your Knock Sensor is not wired, you mean it's not plugged to the sensor? P28's don't have a crank pos. sensor either, that's only for OBD2+, so even if your engine has it, the ECU wouldn't need it.

Have you checked your sparks in all four cylinders? Try swapping out the distributor cap and rotor?

p28's and every other obd1 ecu has a crankshaft position sensor. they're inside the distributor. now they do not have inputs for a ckf (crankshaft fluctuation) sensor. which is the sensor near the crank pulley that the people above were refering to. It is only present on obd2a/b engines.

Check your fuel pump, When I bought my EG it was sitting for a year and had the same problem. When I took out the fuel pump it was rusted, i replaced it and no problems, hope this helps, you can also try a diferent ECU,just in case

Could it be that you are trying to run it off a stock p28? I think that p28s must be chipped to run a dohc vtec since that ecu is made for a single cam vtec. Please correct me if im wrong.

When i bought my eg it had a gsr swap and it was running off of a obd1 p72 and the guy also gave me an extra p28 with the car. I wanted to see if the p28 made a difference so i put it in and the car barely ran. It wouldnt rev above 3k and idled really poorly. I looked inside the p28 and it didnt have a chip in it. Just my 2 cents

Check your coolant level's too. That was my problem, but my car started up after you let it sit there for an hour or so, and when you drove it for 10 mins it wouldn't start back up.
