papers for motor?
what "papers" would I need for a motor im buying? not buying it from a dealer its from a private seller. Would the title of the donor car be good enough?
thanks
thanks
Yes the title/registration would be good just check the vin numbers to see if it match, that would help alot GL.
PS- never but a motor without proof of it being legit.

Would a carfax report count? I bought a motor and didn't get a title, but the seller gave me a carfax report, which stated that the car was salvaged...shine some light on this for me too. Thanks.
a carfax paper is ok but not good.
you should have gotten a bill of sale, as ALLxMOTOR EG mentioned.
get a piece of paper and write something like
"I,(SELLER's NAME), sell my motor,(type of motor. b16, gsr etc), to, (BUYER) for $xxxxx.
the vin of the motor being sold it xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I release all legal rights of the motor to (buyer)."
then both of you sign it.
make sure to write his name, address and phone number just in case.
show that to a cop and they will bend over!!! lol
but get something along those lines
