camber kit question
so, heres the scenario. i lowered my purlude w/ some h&r race springs 2.0F 1.8R. put off gettin a camber kit, blew out front right tire. then i get the progress camber kit for the F only. get it installed and aligned. mechanic says the camber is still off by a little bit. but i forget to get a spec sheet.
so my question is: how far off is my camber? and is it gonna "eat" my tires up? i hope my tires dont go out qwick

somebody correct me if I'm wrong:
if "off by a little" means a 1/2 degree, then I think you should be ok. (Some track guys actually do this on purpose) Keep a super-close eye on your tread. You might want to get a simple/cheap gap gauge and keep a log of the inner tread wear rather than trying to eye-it.
I was able to drop 1.5" without having to get a kit. What range were to specs for the camber kit for?
A spec sheet would be nice.......

Negative cambers don't contribute to immature tire wear if you don't do lots of burnouts. What kills the tires are the toe. Excessive toe-in usually causes the outter edge of the tire to wear out quicker, and excessive toe-out causes the inner edge of the tire. Do you know what your toe settings are? Anything more than 1/8" (whether it's 1/8" toe-in or toe-out) is too much and that would be the cause of immature tire wear.
When my car was lowered 3" couple years ago, my cambers were -2.5 to -2.7 degrees. I had no camber kits, and my first set of 18" tires (Falken GR-Beta)lasted close to 40k miles. Now that my car is lowered only 1.75" or so, my cambers are about -1.8 degrees all around, and I use my tires for both street driving and auto-x. I still don't have camber kits, my tires (Bridgestone S-03) lasted shorter. That's because the wear is mostly from the hard cornering in auto-x, and I'm wearing out the outter edges more than the inner edges. I would love to get at least a -2.5 degrees of camber without lowering even further.
