Hey guys I dont know how long this has been going on, but my rad is leaking from the top by where the plastic meets the metal. After driving one day i popped the hood and noticed it was leaking. The rad is oem and there are no cracks, wha could be the problem? just that its old? signs of other issues? etc? I appreciate the help, im a noob Here are the pics

Is there any chance that the coolant is leaking from the radiator cap and then flowing to those other areas?

 

i dont believe so, I would of seen the fluid or a trace of it come from the cap then...

 

I would replace the cap, you can pick one up for about 10-15 @ the honda dealer. Clean off the top of the radiator real good, and see if the leak is still there. If so, replace radiator. Most like the plastic cracked or the seal is bad. Or if you dont have the money, you could buy some radiator stop leak as a temp fix.

is it just oem or origional to the car? if you're gonna replace the radiator, go to o'rileys and spend $100 on a new aluminium one, it comes with a lifetime free replacement warranty,

it looks like the end cap on top of the radiator has come loose, theres no fix for that.

original in the car, so its pretty old...is o'rileys rad durable/reliable?

 

ive had one in my car for about 2 months, it seems to run a little bit cooler than normal now, i would (since you have the coolant system empty) also put a new thermostat in it.

and even if the o'rileys one ****s up, a new one is free. thanks to o'rileys.

 

check your upper rad hose kinda looks wet in that pic ive had those spring clamps come loose before

 

y0 guys I checked the rad again today...its full with coolant and the cap is on tightly and nothing was coming from the hose. Still have no idea why it leaks, i dont see any cracks but who knows. I was thinking abut using JBweld to patch it up and then buy a new one, any suggesstions?

 

if its not the hose wich it loos like it might very well be. jb weld wont fix it unless you have enough to go around the whole top of the rad, because it might not even be leaking from there (gravity). your engine is heavier than the transmission, henceforth it leans to the right.

patch it for the time being, such as a week or so. I am debating on getting a mishimoto, fluidyne, or megan racing radiator. Anyone have any experience with any them? I know fluidyne or koyo would probably be the better options, but i wonder how the others hold up against them since I found them a lot cheaper.
