Default 1996 Honda Civic, bypass for power windows

OK, so I have this honda that has been through the rigors and am hoping that someone can help me. I've been having problems with the power windows and over the course of time they've all systematically stopped working. I've chk'd fuses, switches, and replaced regulators, it seems that the issue is electrical. I know this may be a bit far off, but is there a way that I could run a toggle switch direct from the battery to the windows themselves as to avoid the astronomical charge the dealership may hit me with in diag'ing and fixing this issue? Please let me know what you guys think.

Do you have a 2, 3, or 4 dr? I think with a little time you could fix the problem, prolly the same amount of time it would take to rig up the windows.
