help with my dc please..
Yo whats good homies... I just bought this dc at a police auction for pretty cheap .. 95 gsr with an ls motor.. Well I went to get a inspection from my mechanic and he changed all my fluids for me but he noticed that the alternator belt was put on back words by some dumb a** who ever had this car first. So anyways I had no time to get it done so I headed back home and boom **** snapped.. and i think the p/s belt got twisted also but the altenator belt snapped or the ps belt snapped and the altenator belt twisted! lol I`m a little confused about which is which right now so correct me if im wrong..
Thanks here the pic

No I bought this at an auction, it's a 97 ls b18. So basicly the power steering belt is screwed? Or you think a mechanic can flip it back around?
Do you think if that belt is twisted it will cause my alternator not to spin? Because I tryed to spin it and its like froze. I think the alternater froze up. :[
If I buy an alternator whats a good one and how much amp do you usually need?

alternators freezing up is a common problem. I would buy a new powersteering belt also. they are not hard to change. there are two bolts that hold it to the bracket. loosen those and there is a wing nut on top that allows the pump to drop. drop the pump enough to take the belt on and off. put a new one and do everything in reverse. make sure the belt is tight nut not to tight you should be able to wiggle it a little bit
Is this job easy enough or should I hit up a shop? I don't have any tools at the moment..
How much am I looking at from your experience, Can you lead me to the right direction of alternators online? and whats a good amp number to get, I seen theres different kinds.

I know there is two types they say on the side. Take it in to autozone and they will be able to help you out with the one you need. It is a very easy job it you know what the parts look like you should be able to change them. The alt only has two bolts also.
I also have to replace o2 sensor and cat. Isn't there two o2 sensors?

Or should I spent a grip of money for the racing one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...ayphotohosting
I was looking at those blue racing ones I know basicly probably paying for a bs name..
Good year belts like 10-15 bucks and those two belts with the racing belts are 60 plus 12 shipped.

The o2 sensor uses a 21mm or 7/8" wrench.
For the belts, just use the standard OE spec belts from AutoZone, no need for that hyped out $70 Gates belt.
For the Alt, all you have to do is loosen the top bolt and it should slide forward to drop the belt.
