So I got a Integra with a short shifter and a aluminum shift **** from a RSX I think, don't know what's the brand of the short shifter, every time after i drove, and then parked somewhere to grab a bite or something, after I get back into the car and start driving, my shirt know would be all warn, so I'm just wondering if that is normal or no?

your exhaust is heating it up. you might be missing a heat shield

 

Same reason I went with with the OEM ****. IMO, it looks better, and it won't heat up.

 

The car does have a tanabe exhaust, where should the heat shield be placed at? N where can I get it? Is this a major problem that I should worry about?

 

mine does it to. other than the heat radiating up into the car it should be fine. ive been driving with mine for a couple of months now, and i was even open header and never had a problem with it.

 

the heat shield shold be placed in its original location, above the piping. they tend to rattle quite often, so if you don't have one, it was probably removed by the previous owner.

 

So I guess is not a problem to run it like that, I'll just leave it be then lol.

 

i ripped my heat shield off...it rattled against my exhaust...i havent had a problem with it...but my shifter will get warm if i am sitting in traffic and dont have a good amount of air flowing under the car

i never had a problem like this and if i remember right i don't have a heat shield either...

 

You know...there are people on H-T that the search button does not work...ever since they updated stuff...my search button doesnt work....i have typed in stuff that i know there is a topic on..."LS/VTEC" for example and it comes up "NO RESULTS"...soo i really dont blame people for not searching.....cause for some of us...that button is useless

 

Same here, i have an accord euro-r shift **** and it gets pretty warm along with my shifter because i removed the heat shield because of rattling.

 

Even if that button is "useless" (try advanced search next time), Google is (and has always been) there to use.

It works better than it did on ZF, and that's a fact. I typed in "hot shifter" and quickly found that thread from last week.
