I am looking into a wire tuck on my 99 si. I would like to know if I will be dealing with any check engine codes if I totally remove the evaporation canister? I am not too partial to the power steering; and my pump is bad. The res. si gone, so in turn I would rather remove it. Beside I am boosting and have a ramhorn that I don't think will allow it anyway. There is a clip on one of the hard-lines. Will this have a code associated with it when I remove it. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. So keep your negativity to yourself. Thanks.
Hi. I removed the power steering pressure sensor when I converted to a manual rack, and never threw a code for it. It just bumps up the idle a little when turning, and never notices if it never shows up.
As for the charcoal canister I'm unsure. I know I've thrown codes for EVAP purge solenoid junk recently, but there's surely a workaround for this. I'm in for an answer as well.

When you remove the power steering lines make sure to loop the holes on the rack (with AN fittings and rubber hose) so that your seals don't dry up and your rack stays good.
Some dude made a DIY for doing this with all part numbers. I wouldn't use the site mentioned in the DIY, unless you don't mind having to call in to place your order. You can actually just search using google for the part numbers he listed and you'll find other sites selling the same exact parts and you can just order online.
Here's the DIY:

Also what about the cruise control unit? I can't imagine were the hell I will put it, IF I decide to keep it. How do I remove that properly?

Cruise control has a little harness connected to it, two bolts on the module itself, the throttle wire slips out at the gas pedal under the dashboard, and the vacuum line (and that little black cylinder) can come out. Plug the hole with vacuum cap on the intake manifold, I used Spectre ones from AutoZone.
