Try not to get nervous and stall it! Personally i just made sure all routine maintenance was up to par - oil, air filter, tranny fluid, spark plugs, maybe drop your tire pressure down a few psi in the front...
It's going to be more about you learning how to drag your car, it just takes practice.

If you launch it, don't take the RPM's up too high because you'll just spin...shift right before smacking rev limiter...maybe take out your back seats or anything that would be easy to remove to make your car lighter...make sure not to miss any gears lol or grind...always have the clutch pushed in all the way before shifting and make sure you are in the next gear before releasing...and the rest just takes practice...but those are a few pointers based on my experiences.

dont worry about fast times just worry about launching dont pop ur clutch let it out kinda fast without dumping as far as rpm to launch at, try 3500 and work up from there because u dont want to bog and u dont want wheel spin so work it out from there ... oh and dont move ur hand faster then ur foot try to concentrate and u should be good ....

"granny shiftin, not double clutchin like ya should" lmao.... dude i stall my **** all the time if i don't concentrate on it. not sure what it is, but its like a pogo stick on the floor. grabs like a mother though! anyway, yeah, don't wanna cause to much tire spin. and don't hold it at WOT too long off the rev limiter, it'll only hurt you.

Well...some claim that it does...and every little thing counts if you're trying to get the best possible time right?...don't start ripping the car apart just to reduce the weight by like 20 pounds though

Don't worry too much about showing off at this point since it's your first time. Don't bother removing your seats or bothering with "mods" for the day. Just practice. Your driving style alone is going to dictate your times. With practice, you can start doing the other things to improve your times. For instance, my first few track passes, i ran mid 13's and was happy; however, with the power my setup was making, i should have run in the mid 12's. Through practice (and an additional 150whp now ) i'll steadily improve my times. Good luck

Yeah, I take out everything that moves, or can move inside my car, such as my jack, spare, floor mats, and what not. Sometimes my seats, but I'm so lazy.

drop 10psi from your front tires...add about 5more to the rears... dissconect muffler part of stock exhaust... remover intale pipeing from air box..( only for the drag strip ) install new spark plugs when you get to the track... change fuel fitler...new dissy cap and rotor. Slightly advance dissy as well at the track. Remove passanger seats front and rear... spare tire, jack, trunk cover, any free weight. Make sure you have as little fuel as possible 1/4 tank or less. Launch at 4000 don't floor the throttel rite away...kinda ease into WOT. 93 oct.
