questions about tie rods
yes my accord makes a knocking noise when i jerk the wheel real quick and some people tell me tie rods but it makes the same knocking noise somtimes when i hit a bump and when i pull in like a driveway with a lip one tire at a time it makes the same noise one side then the other tie rods or what any info thanksssss
Yep you can replace them yourself I did, and they are relatively cheap. Is your car lowered? Bootleg? Then the slamming has taken it's toll on the suspension. They also sell pretty good suspension kits on ebay for steering components. Tie-E, sway link, arms, the whole nine, and decent camber kits
After driving my car for 3 years with this same problem, I recently self-diagnosed my problem and had it fixed.
In my case, the rack ends, or inner tie-rods, were the culprit. It was only happening on the driver-side. After a lot of money spent in the repair shop (rack ends/inner tie-rods are a PITA for DIY I found out) the noise is now gone, and the car feels a lot more solid, no more clunking.
