Default new here got my first integra

What's up I'm new to honda-tech. I'm 24 and female hardcore vw head. But I recently sold my jetta coupe in search for something more reliable. I'm not new to Honda's as I own 2 motorcycles but this is my first honda car. I got a 90 Integra gs yesterday with 150k on it. I plan on turboing it in the not so distant future. Will get pics up when I get some. Besides turbo what other decent upgrades can I do to the car? I wanna keep it pretty stock looking on the outside as I don't want it to get stolen. Definately wanna lower it a bit but I really only know vw parts so if you guys could point me in the right direction I'd much appriciate it.

Try Inlinefour, passwordjdm, JAPUSA.com these site can help you find good used or new parts, go to the hondamarketplace, and keep an eye on local parts that are for sale on the norcal site. GL with your build, the market is very good on the honda side, there is nothing that they haven't modified on these cars! I also think you shouldn't turbo the car right away, these cars can make real nice numbers without the help of a turbo unlike the VW's.

Hell yeah I have a Jetta too and that car is nothing but a headache!
Build the engine then turbo! Get your basic stuff I/H/E. I have KYB AGX shocks on my DA and they're alright.

I would do a rebuild/motor build if you want it to be reliable. Since it's a 90, I would defitnately make it a sleeper...like I said, build the motor and if you're on a tight budget maybe go with something simple like a turbo kit from www.xs-power.com

Nice buy. I got the same year and type. Don't look for major power gains with a stock internals lol no silver bullet here. Try to lose some uneeded weight first. Then try a set of nankang ns-2 tires i found too work nice on a set of 17 x 7 rims. cold air and exhaust. E-Bay is a good way to get cheap parts too. I got a set of tower braces and AEM cold air for under $30.

Snapped a quick cell phone pic. The car is 100% stock the wheels are definately going. I've got some ls webs on the way. As far as an alarm goes that's definately going on before any mods my question is how hard is it to convert from manual locks to power? Also the interior is staying stock my drivers bolster is blown up tho how hard is it to find stock drivers seats that are in decent shape? Ive got blue interior if that helps. Also I'm going to be getting another bottom end and I'll throw some rings and bearings in that and use that for when I turbo. I'm not looking to spend a crapload of money so I'm keeping stock internals. I'm also only looking for no more then 200-250hp to keep it reliable.

Cali cars are so nice and clean. No snow and salt=rust. Good luck on you build.

based on your goals, definately go with a kit from www.xs-power.com and e-bay is a good place to find seats and stuff like that.

Why not?...xs-power turbo kits are cheap...and the only problems they seem to have are with the exhaust manifolds cracking but that can simply be solved by getting a cast-iron manifold. Don't sit here and say not to do something and then not give a reason why not to. She isn't looking to spend much money, and her car already has 150,000 miles on it so why waste a bunch of money?...not to mention she is only looking to make 200-250HP which can easily be achieved.

I personally love this bodystyle but i got a DC2 tegra which is very nice to me lol. But if you want to upgrade some stuff which will add power i would go with header, exaust, definatly cold air intake (better flow for more cold air), and new spark plugs and wires, and i would add new grounds, eventhough people say its a myth i have beaten 2 gsr's with my car and the grounds do help and im NOT boosted. I would also add an MSD ignition system to make everything in your car work alot better. Welcome to the Honda Family .

well if you plan on getting a turbo, soon, then dont get any headers or a intake. cause when you get a turbo that stuff has too come off anyway. and if you get a cat back keep in mind that youll want around a 2.5 inch, (which should be fine) because a turbo is pushing alot more exhaust and its all about getting the exhaust out so theres no power lost in that region. and living in cali wit a turbo...... cops are bitchs. so dont get pulled over and deff sleep it. before all that tho you deff need some suspension. i have skunk2 pro coilovers and there not too much out the pocket and handle beautiful. a lil ruff but thats how i like it lol. jk.

Finding stock driver seats are easy especially in cali I know a junk yard where I live and they cost around 14 bucks per seat. check your local craigslist and sometimes you get lucky and find Intake, Headers, Exhaust for really cheap or the Honda-Tech Market Place.

that is why cheap is never reiliable, it's far from it...XS mani's are crap! As for the seats, try your local junkyard...everytime, I go to the yard I see DA's.

Which is why I said to go with a cast iron manifold.
