So my cat clogged a few days ago and i had to get my car towed, cleaned out the cat and got all the stuff out of it and started the car it stared running rough back firing and died. I started checking stuff the car will crank but not turn over im not getting a spark out the Distributor, ive had my uncle and a friend look at it and they think i might have bent the valves but honestly i don't know whats going on can someone give me their opinion or give me a few options?

 

a bent valve will not cause the dizzy not to spark. So you were just driving and the car shut off? You will have to do a compression test and leak down to find out what going on inside the motor

 

Yeah im gonna do the compression test this weekend. Yeah basically it started running rough i stopped to check it out and figured i better get it home took off and couldn't get over 10mph then i heard a pop and saw sparks on the ground behind the car i pulled over the car back fired and died.

 

I would check the timing and deff do a compresion test and leak down. I would be concern about the sparks from behind the car.

 

What is a leak down?
