Default what kind of trany is this..?

whats good guys i need help trying to find out what kind of trany this is....my boy is selling it to me but he dont know if its a ls trany or a gsr......please help me out....

Both the LS and GSR are s80 trannies. I'm not sure if there's any way to tell from the numbers on the sticker but I don't believe so. One sure way to find out is to open up the case and count the teeth to get gear ratios.

After looking closer at the pic, it's attached to an LS engine, so in all likelyhood it's an LS tranny. Your friend would probably know if he had switched to a GSR tranny at some point.

thank's for the reply but he doesnt know, because the swap is in his civic bubble, and he bought it like that.....

go to the highway take it to 70mph come back with the results of the rpms

if your at 3-3.5, I don't remember which exactly Then you have an LS tranny, anything below that is a gsr or b16 or maybe.... a typer

you should be at almost 4k with a gsr tranny. LS is about 3200

your rpms should be at about 4,000 if it is a gsr about 3,200 if it is a LS

wrong, gsr and b16 trannies are higher. gsr just alil but b16 is alot higher.
