What is this creaking noise? WITH VID
So I started to notice this noise when I turn the wheel. It only makes this noise when either stopped and turning wheel or really low speed (5-8 mph). I just replaced, upper control arms, lower ball joionts, outter tie rods, cv axles. I notice the car does wander on the road quite a bit. I was thinking its rack noise. What do you all think. Thanks in advance, Mike

hmmm... i think i have a similar problem actually. although i'm not quite sure what it is now that you've mentioned what you've replaced. i slid up a curb and hit a traffic light a couple of winters back and never really got my car fixed (no real damage thank god. just a tiny scrape on my front bumper and my alignment is slightly off). although mine only makes that sound turning at a really slow creep and sounds a little deeper than yours.
So if this was the sway bar endlinks would these contribute to a a fair amount of wandering on the road? Also the steering wheel doesn't seem come back to the center position when turning which led me to think it was the rack.
Is there a good how to on replacing the endlinks? Thanks

Wow thats a creek. Have you greased any of your ball joints or tie rods lately ( if you can even grease them) and do you have a manual rack on that i couldn't really tell but check your rack boots to see if they're cracked.
but i'm leaning towards the rack.

The ball joints where just replaced. Im sure they were greased then. They were changed about 300 miles ago. Outter tie rods were replaced at the same time.
I think it is a power rack. I know nothing about racks lol, could it possibly have a manual rack on a car equipped with power steering? The rack does have lines going to it from pump so Id think its a power rack.
I just don't wanna go replacing more crap on the car than I have to. Ive already sunk in 500 or so.
