Hey I've got a D16Z6 with 210,000 miles on it and was wondering what I would have to do to get it in good shape to handle a beating haha. I'd rather not try to find another engine. Do I just need to have everything resurfaced or put new rings and pistons in. What will it take to make this a good reliable engine? Thanks Eric

In my opinion you are way better off getting a newer engine, For the money you would spend rebuilding it and going to the machine shop and what not.

 

There are no problems with the engine I'm just worried that it'll get tired being that it has 210,000 miles. I'm going to be doing complete full header back exhaust, cold air intake, blox intake manafold, blox 74 or 76 mm throttle body, and chip the p28 ecu. Also a good tune. How do you think the engine will hold up with those mods and the tune? I'm just afraid of engine failure. Or smoke. Would putting new rings in it be enough? Let me know what you guys think. I have a question i bought a d16z6 i did a swap in to a ef sedan i got p28 ecu jumper harness done this all b4 had great sucsess but this motor i got it in try to start it and it wont start look at the timing ( i havnt done anything to it was suposed to be complete and running motor) timing appers to be a couple teeth off so i do a compresion test and hear is wat i got i have no idea wat to think!
#1-105
#2-200 wet test.
#3-175 #1- went to 275
#4-200 #2- went to in the 400s not quit sure gauge dosent go that far!
and thats wear i stopped
