I have two different problems:

1. Has been going on for a while, once in a while my car cranks very slowly in the morning.
2. Started about a week ago, I will start my car and it fires up then immediately dies. Then i crank it again and it starts right up.

Running jdm single zc on manual 90 crx si.
Fuel pump and main relay changed by a shop about a year ago (i didnt know much about crxs back then so i dont even know if they really put new parts in there, and still havnt checked)
Never changed the starter, no idea how old it is.

i have the same problem on my ef9 i also have a sohc zc.idk what it is but when i let the fuel pump charge it does it less.......b4 u start it turn the key all the way on (dnt crank it though) untill the check engine turns off then try starting it........

check ur spark plugs also that might be it.......

i had that problem on my 89 crx w/ a d15b2. i scratched my head for a while and testd almost every sensor, it ended up being the iacv. it didnt like cold starts, changed it and it ran great. im not gonna tell u to replace the iacv but make sure u dont have any codes in the computer and full on antifreeze (iacv works off of coolant temp and if there are bubbles it will not work properly).

 

i have a 1986 crx hf.. i was driving down the street and all of a sudden it shut down.. took me like 15 min and i figured out tha if i hold the key to the right it will stay started. but as soon as i let go it dies.. o and i have to give it a lil gas for it to start. do u have any ideas about that? someone told me i might need a new ignition switch..
