Then what the heck? You know the P28 comes from the 92-95 Civic Si/Ex. These years are OBD1. You also know what the different style ecu plugs look like, but yet you created a thread asking what ecu comes in the 96 del sol.

What did I miss?

Is this ECU being shipped to you? If you're picking it up, just go look at it and if it's the one you need then buy it.

Tell the guy to take pictures of it if you're so paranoid.

Only your teeth will be kicked. You should know exactly what you're looking for now.

If you are asking whether or not a P28 OBD2A ecu actually exists, then yes, it does, it's uber rare, but it does exist. And it comes out of guess what? a 96-97 del sol.

99.99% of the time, the ecu corresponds to the engine, NOT chassis/trim. The p28 from a 92 SI was the same as a 92 EX, for instance.

The "P28" from the 96+ del sol would probably be an UNMODIFIABLE odb2a P2E. All the guy is saying is he knows little about Hondas, but knows this ecu has vtec.

You can't chip and reprogram the ecu as easily as you can an OBD1 P28. It's possible, just much more of a hassle:

Look at the link in my previous post, I said you can, but it's a hassle. Don't expect to be able to run Hondata, Neptune, Crome, or any other OBDI type software.
