Default whats between your head and block?

Allright, I've been in the honda game for about 6 years now. I've mostly messed with the d's and b's. But now I'm getting into the h motors and f motors. Right now I have a JDM H22A coming together. When I took the head off, I do not recall an oil control oriface (jet), or any o-rings on the deck. I just want to verify that there isn't supposed to be either of these in my motor, because when you look at the deck there is a wee little milled spot that looks like an o-ring groove. Any solid answers are greatly appreciated, and any detailed diagrams of the deck are as well. Thanks guys/girls!
