depends on how big you want it to be. i've seen 400 hp turbo engines with only 2.5". so for all motor i don't see why that would hurt.

Like stated, it all depends on your motor build...

If you have a high displacement motor or a bored out b18, then i would suggest a 3 inch. If you are keeping it a 1.8 liter, then i would suggest nothing more than a 2.5

2.5 is the biggest i would go for an N/A motor.
you may even loose power if you go any bigger from the loss of back pressure

HKS hi power is a 2.36 inch pipe...that would be good for a mildy built motor yes. Something with more work, such as cams, higher compression etc, would probably beg for a 2.5 at most.

And yes a 3 inch exhaust will cause some loss of backpressure, giving the motor some hesitation at low rpms.

Well the build im going is quite simple with stage 2 cams. So i guess ill go with the 2.5" I wanted something quiet like the ws2 but i hear that they are a 2.36" Anyone know a good exhaust that is quiet, deep, and not rhaspy with a 2.5" pipe?

Hytech is 2.5, quiet when normal, loud when pushed, and makes the most power ive seen out of any exhaust. But of course theres a price for wanting arguably the best exhaust made for hondas.

Like the others have said going bigger than a 2.5" will create a drop in backpressure and you'll loose even more torque. I am running a comptech SS catback. it is very reasonable around town and had a nice grunt when you stand on it.
