Default Shaving the prelude H22 valve cover??

Can this be done, I am wondering if on the underside of the valve cover if the lettering (DOHC VTEC) is visible? I'd like to shave the valve cover so its flat. I would take mine off and check but im hoping someone can recall this from memory. I was goign to take the bulk off with a grinding disc and the rest I was going to smooth out with a sanding wheel. Any imperfections I would probably use something like JB weld to smooth over before painting. If anyone has any pics of this or links to write ups please pass them my way

Cheers

Thanks i'll give it a go

Do you have any tips for not taking too much off? Or if you did take too much off how did you fill it in before painting?

i only did it for the sole purpose of getting a design airbrushed...so i figured shaving the letters off would add to the effect...by the way op as the guy b4 me said OBX makes h22 valve covers already "shaved" if you dont trust urself doing it

Take it to a machine shop. I myself am a machinist, I've done it before. It only takes like a half hour to do. So it shouldn't cost more than 50 dollars USD. That way it will be very straight too!

There was a thread a while back on an unrelated topic, but it turned into a valve cover thread:

Here is one of the pictures that used to be there:
