H22 catch can install drilling valve cover baffle blow by search friendly i know i know
I pulled my valve cover off to find a good area to drill and weld 2 bungs and found that only the rear of the valve cover is protected by baffling. When I say that I mean its the only vertical surface of the valve cover where drilling holes is possible while still being covered by baffling. So would drilling the holes on that rear surface be my optimal option? I read on another of the 100000000000000 posts on this that most put them on the front of the valve cover. I'm wondering if the B18 and H22 have different baffling configuration inside.
Any insight other than "this has been covered 1.9X10^189 times" would be appreciated.

Im still really confused about the whole catch can thing. I know what it does, but I see so many different setups and have read countless threads on which way they are supposed to work, between open air and closed air setups. Why dont you just setup your catch can between the pcv valve and im so you dont have to drill any holes?

I was wondering the same thing. I would rather prefer to drill the rear of the vc rather than the front b/c my vc is already painted the way I wanted it. Anyone have any insight?
Here's a pic of the baffling of my H22 vc:

it doesn't matter where you place holes.. but its best to do it where its baffled to avoid oil loss and less mess. on my b series vtec valve cover its in front

Under heavy accelleration wouldn't oil tend to accumulate at the rear of the valve cover? The front seems like it would tend to have less oil on it????

the baffling is in the front for the b18 covers and rear for the h22's I just finished looking at them I would put the bungs in the rear

When you install the head breather (catch can) using -10an fitting of the back of the valve cover, do you just cap off the nipple where on the NA setup it would go to the intake, and should you still use the stock PCV valve-to-intake manifold. - (is that capped, PCV ported, what?)
-Does the catch can have to be level with the valve cover or can this sit lower?
