Clutch conversion not working
Okay,
I just swapped a d16y8 with a 5 speed tranny from a 98 ex into my 88 civic std. I installed an Innovative cable to hydro Clutch conversion (linkage one, not the one with the hydraulic master cylinder) but for some reason the clutch wont engage. Anyone have any ideas? I will post pics up later to help show what I am talking about.

Those pictures are of the clutch "dis-engaged"? As in, the car won't move with the clutch in that position, right?
Assuming you're using the correct clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and flywheel combination....
If that's where the arm wants to be in it's "relaxed" postion (without touching the pedal) you need to adjust the rod that pushes the transmission arm.
It looks as though the rod is already pushing on the arm, making the clutch come away from the flywheel. This is not right, unless of course someone is in the car pushing the pedal.
I want you to take that rod off and let the transmission arm relax where it wants to be. Re-install the rod in it's minimum position (thread it all the way until it's as short as possible) and try the pedal. Slowly thread the rod out a bit longer and each time hop in the car and test the pedal to see where the sweet spot is.
Hopefully I sound as clear as I think I do.

The pics are with the clutch in the "dis-engaged" position. I imagine the clutch/throwout bearing/flywheel is the right combo as the engine and tranny came right from the same car and were never disconnected form each other.
If my guess is right, the clutch should engage when the pedal is pressed, but it does not. The pushrod thing is as short as it can be and the cable adjustment nut is backed off about as far as it can be.

Scrpn17w you are mixing up your terms. When you have the clutch pedal pressed in is when the clutch is disengaged. When the pedal is all the way out it is engaged.

Anywho, when the pedal is fully pressed the tranny still grinds showing that the clutch is still engaged. In other words, the pedal does nothing to disengage the clutch, meaning I can't shift or move the car under its own power.
Long story short, I can't drive the car because of the connection between the clutch pedal and the clutch.

If pushing the clutch pedal is not dis-engaging the clutch then you need to try lengthening the rod a bit. Thread it out some more...
Your problem is that the transmission arm does not have a long enough travel, you need to make the rod push the arm further.
Try that, and let us know.
