Post 97 5 Speed Problems

Hey guys,

Well I have noticed car is being little rough getting into first gear. So i jacked up the car today to see if the tranny was full of fluid and if any leaks. Well to my surprise there is Grease thrown on the back side of the intake manifold from the cv looks like but when looking around i don't see where grease came from everywhere is dry but like this grease had spun off of both sides? But nothing on axles? Anyone have some ideas why this would have done this? What i could do to find out what it is? Also can anyone help me find a DIY replace my rack and pinion it comes in tomorrow and i don't know how to do it and not really looking forward to it. One other problem i had just had A/C recharged and when i let up on the gas while driving and A/C is on the car like throws RPM's down to point where try's to kill the engine? Any ideas on this? Belt to tight? something along those lines? Feels like i have no power in second gear will barely make it to 7k.

Thanks Guys.

Is the CV joint boot torn? If so, the grease inside likely spun out.

For the difficulty in shifting into first, try draining the MTF and refilling with Honda MTF.
