Default What's with this oil cooler?

I'm not sure but I think the guy who built my engine mentioned something about putting a different oil cooler on the block, maybe from a B series, these two outlets seem to go somewhere but I haven't had any oil leaks at all. Am I safe driving it the way it is?

Those are likely for coolant to flow into the cooler and exchange heat. If they're not hooked up it should be fine because there's nothing to leak, just an empty pathway.

The oil filter base is acutally an oil cooler. Would be interesting to see how he's blocked off the inlet/outlet on the block and head. Buy the hoses from Honda and hook the oil cooler up. There's no reason not to. Frankly, I wouldn't go back to this guy if he did this.

I'm hooking up an aftermarket oil cooling kit, and no, this guy won't ever touch my car.

Only thing I see that's wrong is the filter used there...

I dont think there is anything wrong. Those iar for coolant inlet/outlet as mentioned before. He did not block off any oil passages. You just need to find a place to tap into the coolant to actually use that cooling feature. It looks very similar to the Acura legends (C32) oil cooler.

Maybe try blowing in one side and see if it comes right out the other to confirm.
