So im doing a mini me swap. d16y7 engine with y8 intake mani, and a y8 head. Its going into a 97 del sol with a vtec harness. Old motor was a y8 so it has the y8 vtec harness already in it. My question is what do i have to do to place a knock sensor in. Will a cel code be one because there isnt one?

There's a spot on the back of the block to install one. And yes, it will throw the code if you don't have one installed.

 

use the bypass trick. worked for me
