I'm finally getting my hatch back together and I ran into a probem with my gas cap. It clicks nicey into place, but does't pop out on release. It releases fine, you just have to pull it out while your holding the release.... any input would be great. Ive f'ed with the catch quite a bit but its not helping.

edit: I mean door. gas door. dangit, what the hell was I thinking?

 

theres a little spring thing behind the door by the hinge, its just a piece of metal. mine broke so I salvaged one from the junk yard. you can bend it more so it pops open farther.

 

I'll have a look at that, although it was fine before I tore the car down....thanks for the reply. maybe its just a bit "painty" and doesn't move freely yet?

 

it could have easlily fallen off if the gas door was off you probably didnt notice

 

you can just bend the metal tab that makes it spring out
