Default $5500 good price for 01' GSR?

I was looking at a 2001 GSR the other day and was wondering if $5500 was a good deal or not? Car has a clean title with 103k and also recently had the timing belt/waterpump changed. Car is basically all stock and that price did not inlude any rims, would bring my own stelies to drive it home.

So what do you guys think? Should I jump on this while I have the chance or wait for a better deal?

And for what it's worth, the other car I'm looking at is a clean 94' GSR with 148K and a JDM front end for 5k. I actually like this car more but it does have mods (engine is stock though), is 7 years older, and has 45k more on the body/chassis than the 01' GSR.

So what do you guys think?

I bought my 94 GS-R 8 years ago with 89K for $6K, so I would say jump on that '01. That's a steal. The 94, not so much.

Do you REALLY want a JDM front end? Is it that important to you? I've had my 94 GS-R for 8 years now and I've put nearly 200K miles on it myself. You'll probably have more years of reliable use out of the '01 than the 94.

Yeah, I figured the 01' was a better deal out of the 2 but the JDM front is so sexy. And for a 94' it is super clean, just as clean as the 01'. But the paint is not original, and even though it looked good to me who knows how good a job was actually done on it. I don't have any pics of either cars but both are immaculate in and out. No dents, scratches, rust, faded paint or anything.

I spose I should probably go after the 01' GSR as it's newer with less miles. I can always put a JDM front on later down the road if I still want. I just wasn't sure if this was that great a deal or not. I knew it was good but I'm not too fond of the color (silver) so if deals like this are common I would hold off and look for one I liked a little better. But it sounds like this is a good one so I think I'm going to try and get it.

the 01 is the car to buy out of these two. 5500 for a clean title 100k car is actually not bad at all.

I bet theres a possibility that if you book the 01 it will be worth about that or more, the older one with the front clip is only for those who want that. I will tell you that the 01 seems alot better in the maintenance dept. GSR motors arent easy nor cheap to come by if the other one were to go. If you are good with working on these go with the one you like better. I paid 6k otd for my 95 one owner well maintained 2 years ago. I think thats a bit much but I loved it.

By the way a 01 gsr in "GOOD" condition goes for 6200 Private party value under my zip code. Retail is in the 8k range.

I would go with the 2001...newer, clean title, miles aren't bad, new timing belt/water pump...price isn't too bad...and with it being stock, you can do whatever you want to it and it will be built, not bought.

Get it at that price, see if you can lower the price by two to three hundred.

do it! that is so cheap! i paid on the high side cuz it is so crazy hard to find an unmolested integra in cali. $6500 for 94 4dr gsr....but its 100% stock never modified in its life (old folks.) 130k on the clock now.

make sure the title is clean and check under the car. knock the panels, check the fender gaps etc. GL!
