^^ possibly

I was gonna say thats something that tends to happen with hondas (for reasons i do not know)
But 5/10 tries, that means something else... My car has trouble but its more of a one or two time try putting it in reverse, and it goes in.. Moms was the same way, and a buddy (stupid or not) believed that the synchro (since it serves as Reverse and another gear, may have been damaged)

Your reverse gear is worn out more than likely. You can change the reverse for to when you get into the trans. Just from now on if it dosnt go into reverse just engauge the clutch and release it agen. Your reverse gear has no syncro so when you release the clutch and try to engauge revease their isnt anything to line up the gear with the the countershaft

before shifting into reverse, first shift into 4th gear, THEN go into reverse. common practice.

First drain the MTF, check thoroghly for metal flakes/ debri. if none or close to none.
Time to change the clutch.

Wait I thought it was 1st to 4th then up to 3rd then reverse ?

( Up Down Right Down Up Down Right Down )

Sounds like a finishing move on Mortal Combat
