Default Dont want to lose high beams.

I want to do an HID retrofit on an EK civic, except I don't want to lose the high beams, and I don't want to go with a bi-xenon setup either.

Has anyone tried a retrofit with some of those TYC projector style head lamps with the separate bulbs for the hi and low beams?

That way I could do the HID retrofit on the low beam projector, and leave the high beam alone.

Anybody have any opinions on the quality of the TYC head lamp units?

I'm in progress retrofitting a "quad-light" setup as you described. I used an old eBay projector housing on my EJ. Also, I have heard good things about the TYC lights. I can post up some pics when I'm done, it should be this week. I think I actually ran into more trouble with the mounting and the wiring than I would have using the stock housing, but I'm pretty sure I'll get a unique look.

That sounds really cool!

I can't wait to see the shots of your car and the of lights when you are done.

I was also thinking that the wiring would be the toughest part.

Did you have to build your own wiring harness?

Sorry for the late reply...I actually used a harness I got off eBay which was designed for H4 bulbs (I used to have pnp's). I think that's why the wiring has been difficult. I'm basically done with everything appearance wise..just put a clear-coat on it all yesterday and added some finishing touches. Now all I have to do is get my brights functioning. I'll post some pics soon and keep you updated

I've been thinking about that for a whole month. I don't want to go bi-xenon because I wish to have my low beam stay on when I switch it to high-beam. I don't know what can I do with my 4D EG with a depo Clear glass headlamp. Is it possible to put a tiny fog-light inside the headlamp unit for the highbeam?

Here use go, I'll post some pics w/ cutoff and **** in the Retrofit Club when I get a chance.

I am in the middle of doing body work w/ the bumper, fender and side skirts....so that's why it looks like crap and the lights don't really line up well.

Thanks a lot! I would post some pics of the cutoff, but it aint that great right now...the projectors I bought from a random guy on HIDplanet had dents in the bowls so there are some imperfections. Once I get that fixed I'll put up some finished pics in the club section.
