rubbing noise only on left turns, please help?
It makes a rubbing noise on hard left turns that sounds like the tires are hitting but it dosn't do it on the right turns. I took it to a mechanic and they said it was the cv joints on the axles so I replaced those with 90 integra axles for the second time. On the new remanufactured axles the cv boot on the wheel side of the axle was very stiff and the transmission side was loose. Is this normal, the guy at Autozone said it was but I'm not sure he new what he was talking about. If you guys don't think it is the cv boots, anything else that it might be? Any help would be appreciated as I am leary to drive it with the knocking noise it makes when i turn. Thanks.
how are the ball joints on that side.
i'd think it was the cv joint too, but it could be a ball joint or bushing. another thing you might want to check is your suspension, i've heard they can knock sometimes
sorry, cant really help ya unless i heard the knock and looked at the car myself, but those are a few suggestions.
does it only knock when your turning? just when your braking? accelerating? all the time?

it does it whether i'm braking around a turn or accelerating. what part of the suspension do you think would be hitting. Anyone know if the cv joint on the wheel side of the axle is supposed to be a little stiff?

I don't want to spend money on a mechanic telling me its the cv boot if I've already replaced the cv axle shaft twice, but with faulty parts.

Try pulling the tire(s) off, and seeing if there are any shiny places. That well tell you if your actually hitting something. Or there is something wrong with the CV...
